Our HIGH VOLTAGE LIGHTNING 5.4 Short Blocks are the perfect choice for your street or racing vehicle for up to 1000+ horsepower reliability. These short blocks include: Ford OEM Fully Machined 5.4 Windsor Cast Iron engine blocks, Forged 4340 Steel 8 bolt crankshafts (check your flywheel for fitment), ModMax Forged 4340 Steel H-Beam connecting rods with ARP2000 bolts, your choice of Forged pistons and pins, Plasma Moly rings, and High Performance King rod and main bearings. These short blocks are rated up to 1500hp with the H-Beam rods but with the upgraded Billet I-Beam rods (up to 1800HP) and Stainless Steel Rings these blocks can take a lot more. (See the optional rod choices and ring upgrades to get the components necessary for your application.) In addition we can build these with a variety of piston dish volumes for the compression ratio of your choice. (Please use the compression ratio chart below to see which pistons to choose for your compression decision and then pick the proper pistons in the dropdown box).
Each shortblock is hand assembled and machined as ordered to insure quality. The blocks are precision honed for proper piston to wall clearance, checked and cleaned before assembly. The rotating assemblies are completely internally balanced to racing specifications and then meticulously assembled into the block. Bearing clearances are checked and set for performance use and the rings are perfectly filed to fit for optimum seal. If you choose the main stud option we also install the main studs and line hone for a perfect crank bore as studs change the roundness of the main saddles.

NOTE: PLEASE SEE THE CHART BELOW FOR COMPRESSION RATIO OPTIONS SO YOU CAN CHOOSE THE CORRECT PISTONS!
